Way back in February if I wore a mask or facial covering when going into my local bank, they would have thought that I was going to rob them. In fact, up until recently most banks had a policy prohibiting customers from wearing anything obscuring their face including baseball hats and sunglasses while in the bank.
According to the International Center for Not-for-Profit-Law (yes, this is a real organization), wearing a face mask may be illegal in some places.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends that Americans wear face masks to reduce transmission of COVID-19 and many localities are mandating wearing them for certain activities, . . . at least 18 states and Washington DC have laws that could be used to penalize those who wear face coverings. Municipalities also often have their own anti-mask laws.

However, my Cousin Vinny tells me that if you leave your nose exposed and only cover your mouth then you won’t be in violation of an anti-mask law. That can’t be right?
I thought I would provide a much needed (but certainly not asked for) public service by commenting on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 disease guidance.
Here are some of the myths that the WHO has addressed on their website concerning the COVID-19.
The prolonged use of masks when properly worn, DOES NOT cause carbon dioxide intoxication nor oxygen deficiency. Do not re-use a disposable mask and always change it as soon as it gets damp.
I guess the keywords in the above statement are “properly worn”. How tightly are people tying their mask to their face? Do they understand that the mask goes outside their mouth?
Drinking alcohol does not protect you against COVID-19 and can be dangerous.
So, increasing my alcohol consumption over the past 3 months did not protect me from getting COVID-19? Drinking alcohol to protect against getting a virus intuitively makes sense the more you drink.
There are currently no drugs licensed for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. While several drug trials are ongoing, there is currently no proof that hydroxychloroquine can cure or prevent COVID-19.
What about CBD oil? Doesn’t that cure everything? That’s my understanding based on half of the emails in my spam folder. What about turmeric?
Adding pepper to your soup or other meals DOES NOT prevent or cure COVID-19. Hot peppers in your food, though very tasty, cannot prevent or cure COVID-19.
Another COVID-19 remedy bubble bursts . . . but with lots of flavor!
COVID-19 IS NOT transmitted through houseflies. The virus that causes COVID-19 spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks.
I would think that killer bees and murder hornets transmit COVID-19. Doesn’t that make more entomological sense?
Spraying and introducing bleach or another disinfectant into your body WILL NOT protect you against COVID-19 and can be dangerous. These substances can be poisonous if ingested and cause irritation and damage to your skin and eyes.
But my teeth were the whitest that they have ever been (before they fell out of my mouth) and nothing bothers my stomach anymore since it dissolved.
“Introducing bleach or another disinfectant into your body”? I guess the CDC wanted to make sure to cover all the possible ways someone could get bleach or another disinfectant into their body by using the term “introducing”?
5G mobile networks DO NOT spread COVID-19. Viruses cannot travel on radio waves/mobile networks. COVID-19 is spreading in many countries that do not have 5G mobile networks.
People seriously think that this is true? I heard that wearing an aluminum foil cap on your head will prevent the transmission of COVID-19. It also keeps extraterrestrial beings from reading your mind.
Being able to hold your breath for 10 seconds or more without coughing or feeling discomfort DOES NOT mean you are free from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or any other lung disease.
But I can hold my breath for a full minute underwater. Does that make any difference?
Taking a hot bath will not prevent you from catching COVID-19. Your normal body temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37°C, regardless of the temperature of your bath or shower.
What if I take a hot bath in bleach or disinfectant while drinking alcohol and eating hot peppers? Will that combination of moronic activity protect me from getting COVID-19? Maybe just a little bit?
Can eating garlic help prevent infection with the new coronavirus? Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from the coronavirus.
But eating enough garlic will certainly keep other people more than six feet from you. It will also help to keep vampires away from you too.

Matt
